First off, here are the specifications for my system:
- AMD Athlon XP 2400+ @ 2600+
- Asus A7N8X Rev. 1.04
- Visiontek Xtasy GeForce4 Ti4400 128MB TV OUT
- 256MB Corsair XMS 3200C2 DDR RAM

- Lite-On LTR 52246S Burner
- Pioneer DVD-105S 16x DVD ROM
- 19" Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo C994 Monitor
- MidiLand S4-8200 5.1 Speakers (Version 1)
- Creative Soundworks Digital 2.1 Speakers
- Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 1
- DirectX 9
Note:
Testing was conducted with Nvidia Detonator driver version 40.72 WHQL Certified.
My hard drive is configured as primary master. The Lite-On burner is secondary master with the Pioneer DVD ROM as
secondary slave. DMA is enabled on all drives. On-board NForce sound was used with driver version 2.0 from Asus. I
opted for the optional S/PDIF in/out panel for this mainboard and connected the optical output to the MidiLand speakers
for Dolby Digital pass through and the coaxial output to the Creative set. Connected to the analog output is an average
pair of Sony headphones for the headphone tests. TV out is via S-Video cable. The installed WinDVD Platinum version is
4.5 B11.015.
